MediBabble Translator App Reviews

Technical language but otherwise good

For the Cantonese version, the translations are very formal and it would be better if things were stated in colloquial Cantonese (or at a 3rd grade level) - many of our non English speakers are not educated. Otherwise an excellent app and full of useful technical terms.

Update 2. Broken, Black Screen & freeze.

App used to be great, broken now? Update to 2.0 does not work. Opens to MediBabble screen, then screen goes black - app does not work. Have reloaded, reset device, etc. - app does not work anymore. Luckily I still have old version - Advice to all: make a copy of your entire Mobile Applications folder so you can revert if updates dont work. Many updates for iOs 7 dont work properly, have bugs in the first updates for iOs 7, or will no longer work on 4th Gen devices or iOS 6.

Finally working and its great

In iOs 6 it had stopped working, but on new iPhone 5s its fabulous! I work in a busy college health services clinic. We have many non-Englsh-speaking patients. Ive used MediBabble with Chinese patients and have been very happy with it. Definitely aids communication and saves time. I especially love that it uses print AND voice translation. Its earned its place on my home screen. Anyone who uses the app really should support this work; Im glad I made a voluntary donation. Would love to see Korean added. --Mike Brown, MD Philadelphia area

Love but need...

I need Burmese and Korean

Very useful

One problem - when searching for a term, if you want to search multiple times, the app stops working after the first search. I need to close the app completely to do another search. Otherwise Im loving this app. Im a first year medical student and fluent in Spanish with a history of working as a volunteer medical interpreter. I love this app because it is well organized and has both verbal and written interpretations/translations. Currently I am learning the hundreds of questions (in English) I should ask a patient during a thorough history. When I come across a question where I cant translate it to a Spanish, this is where this app comes to the rescue!!!

Doesnt work

Product only works in Spanish. When trying to install additional languages screen message "checking for languages" appears then nothing ever happens. Emailed customer support twice with no response.

Only Spanish available

What happened to Russian and Mandarin? Right now the app says"searching for available languages." This app used to have more languages.

Only Spanish

Only in Spanish. Dont expect another languages like the description states.

Wrong translation

" Ive come to check how you are feeling" is actually translated to " Ive come to check how you are feeling" in Spanish. Other than that, great app!

Needs more optometry phrases

Great for what it has but limited use in my practice. Also optometrist is not an option on the profession tab, not good! Please add different professional tabs so we can select the profession and then it will populate terminology according to our exams. Thanks

Need to add Somali

This is a fantastic app for anyone looking to translate medical terminology to their patients. There is a large Somali patient population in a 15 mile radius from where I work. Adding Somali would be a HUGE help for my patients.

RN

So, Ive got a patient on my floor who speaks ONLY Italian... Chinese, Russian, German, Spanish, French and HAITIAN translations arent gonna help my staff...

The best app so far

This is exact what I need!
