Caught an NSTEMI
I am a medical student in my clerkship in Canada. I originally downloaded this app because it looked like a fun little tool that was more novel than anything. I originally liked it because I actually learned how to structure a good history in my pre-clinical years based on how this app was formatted.
Well, last night on call I got a call about an odd case with a gentleman whom spoke only Russian and seemed to be complaining of shoulder pain. No one really knew what to do but I was asked to provide an order for some pain meds. I decided to go see him and give this app a try while I was at it. Turns out, he had a retrosternal pressure with radiating pain to the right shoulder. After the full work-up, we were able to diagnose him with an NSTEMI and send him to CCU that night for treatment.
Im not sure if the creators of this app will see this, but I want to send a genuine thank you. I actually never thought this app would be too useful, but I am now a complete believer! I never write comments online but I feel that this has to be said. Thank you very much!!!
